Dear Subscriber First Name, I have always savored the enlivening sense of possibility that new beginnings impart; flipping the page to a new month on the calendar, the clean slate of a Monday morning, the way light moves differently across a room when seasons change, the encouragement of a new moon. Today my senses are heightened with all these meaningful fresh starts at play - these and so many more. I hope this email finds you savoring the beginnings that are before you today. It was more than six months ago that I left my position as executive director at Grateful Living - after nine extraordinarily meaningful years - to embark on a new journey as an ambassador for the work and to launch myself as an independent author and teacher. These last months have gifted me many life-lessons. Perhaps most important among them is learning that whenever we leap into a period of change, expecting it to be more mysterious than our ideas of “meant to be,” more surprising than what we may have planned…this helps everything that actually unfolds to be of service to us. Of service to resilience, curiosity, growth; to purpose that lives beyond our capacity to know. Of service to peace, insight, gratefulness, life itself. I have come to know that the peace of remaining open to not knowing is worth everything it asks of us. Ever since the summer began turning itself into fall, I have been working on developing a welcoming, beautiful, new website. The site will offer a revolving selection of inspiring podcasts, articles and videos - what I call Musings. You can also find up-to-date information about upcoming events and programs - what I call Happenings. And, importantly, you can find info about all current and future publications, including the beautiful, new paperback version of Wake Up Grateful that is coming out October 3rd!! The heart of everything that Wake Up Grateful stands for is treasuring what is ours to treasure while we can, and the sense of possibility that makes itself available to us when we truly live as though every day matters, every person matters, every thing matters.
